What are High Performance Habits?

The High Performance Institute (HPI), founded by Brendon Burchard – named “the world’s leading High Performance Coach” by Forbes.com, and “one of the most influential leaders in personal growth” by O, the Oprah Magazine – conducted research into how high performers think, behave, influence others, and ultimately, win.

Through their ground-breaking research – which spanned 190 countries, and included 174,054 participants, 300 interviews with leaders in 11 countries, and 70,000 high performance coaching sessions – they learned that extraordinary performance improvements can be achieved through deliberate and conscious practices and habits – what we call the ‘high performance habits’. And it turns out there are just six high performance habits (‘HP6’) that are statistically proven to predict success. These are: seek clarity, generate energy, raise necessity, increase productivity, develop influence, and demonstrate courage.

As Brendon Burchard states, “Adopt these six habits, and you win. Neglect them, and life is a never-ending slog where plateaus, distractions and emotional turmoil are the norm.”

Anyone can learn these high performance habits, no matter their age, gender, career, background, personality traits, strengths, or experiences. And when they do, they can achieve extraordinary success, wellbeing, joy, and growth across all contexts of their personal and professional lives. Using a structured framework for success, a Certified High Performance CoachTM teaches and helps the client to deploy these core success habits, whilst additionally focusing holistically on the client’s psychology (including mindset and limiting beliefs), physiology, productivity, people skills, and purpose.

Additionally, the High Performance Indicator Assessment (just one of the tools used by high performance coaches) reveals that when someone is performing at a higher level, the Indicator Assessment can predict their level of confidence, happiness, perceived excellence, and perceived success. Not only this, but high performance is also predictive of life outcomes, such as life satisfaction, quality of interpersonal relationships, work quality, career impact, and income.

Of course, ‘success’ must be able to be measured and tracked. A pre & post High Performance Indicator Assessment provides a starting baseline and measurable results for the client.
